Mutt-i-grees Pilot Underway in Independence County

CCANA along with Partners for Inclusive Communities has had the wonderful opportunity to pilot the Mutt-i-grees social-emotional curriculum to 24 preschool and 4 kindergarten classrooms in Independence County. 

Mutt-i-grees addresses five themes in the social-emotional growth of children: Achieving Awareness, Finding Feelings, Encouraging Empathy, Cultivating Cooperation, and Dealing with Decisions. 

The Curriculum builds on the research base and program development in the areas of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL).Mutt-i-grees was developed by Yale University School of the 21st Century in conjunction with and collaboration between Pet Savers Foundation and the Millan Foundation. The curriculum  is being used in approximately 5,000 schools nationwide from preschools and grades K -12.
