Better Beginnings Quality Incentive Grants

The Better Beginnings incentive grant is a one-time cash award given upon initial certification for each star level achieved, based on availability of funding. The amount is determined by both the star level achieved and the total allowed capacity of the facility.

The incentive grant can be used for many different aspects to support the quality environment of the facility for the children and families. Some approved uses are:

• Materials to enhance the learning environment

• Curriculum and professional resource books and materials

• Furniture and equipment

• Child health and developmental screening materials

• Family involvement and communication

• Professional development
