NAEYC Pilot Study

NAEYC Pilot Study

In early 2025, NAEYC is implementing a revised accreditation system with tiered levels of quality assessment. This pilot study will evaluate the reliability and validity of the tiered assessment system across diverse communities and program types.

NAEYC is working to streamline and simplify the process. For example, to receive Recognition status, you'll submit an online portfolio with evidence for 45 standards (previously over 120 standards), and this level will not require a site visit. This may be an option for programs that might be interested but are hesitant to jump into the deep end. Refer to the link above to view other changes to statuses.

Joyfully Engaged Learning Arkansas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering support during the NAEYC accreditation process including grants to help cover fees, portfolio review, on-site visits, professional development, and mock observations. As the only NAEYC-accreditation support agency in Arkansas, they will walk programs through the process at no cost thanks to their generous donors

IMPORTANT: NAEYC accredited programs receive quality level reciprocation with the Better Beginnings system in Arkansas.
